It’s about balance in ur own behavior and expectations from others. You do not want to be a doormat and allow things to slide to your own detriment. Rule of thumb for me is that if someone is doing something or acting in a way toward me that is detrimental to me in any way….first I will discuss with them and explain what I am not ok with and give opportunity for change. If they continue with whatever behavior or action was harmful to me, I cut them out of my life. It’s about respect. If someone cannot respect me enough to not hurt me when I have pointed it out and requested they stop, then they do not deserve to be in my life. When I started doing this for myself…I had many less persons in my life this is true BUT…the persons that have remained are QUALITY….I would rather have one or two good persons by my side for life, than two handfuls of persons that cannot respect me enough to not be harmful toward me and always cause me drama and heartache.
