Living and working in Japan
I would like to provide general advice to people who are interested in living/working in Japan, or to those people who are considering teaching languages abroad. Japanese people who are thinking of living/working abroad could also benefit from my experience (please note that my Japanese language abilities are only at a conversational level). I have been living in Japan for almost 8 years and learned a lot, not only through my own experiences, but through the experiences of my fellow ex-pats. Living and working abroad is a wonderful experience, but it isn’t for everyone. I would like you to learn from both my successes and my failures abroad.
Bachelor’s Degree: Applied Geography and Economics TEFL Certificate
While in Japan, I have lived in a few different cities, worked for a number of different employers (big companies, small companies, private lessons), applied/received a variety of visas, got married, had a child, got sick/got healthy, dealt with missing life back home (weddings/funerals), bought health/life insurance, etc., practised both aikido and ju jitsu, climbed Mt. Fuji, and much, much, more. I can provide you with general advice and point you in the right direction for more specific advice (ie. visa requirements for your country, etc.).
