Jack Appleman is an award-winning writer with more than 25 years’ experience as a trainer, communication professional, and professor. As president of SG Communications (www.sgwriting.com), Jack conducts writing workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions that enable corporate employees at all levels to write more productively. These programs have earned Jack outstanding ratings from clients including State Farm, LG Electronics, and Wachovia.

His instruction is based on principles such as tapping the power of simplicity, grabbing readers’ attention and writing with rhythm. Jack explained these principles in a book, 10 Steps to Successful Business Writing, (ASTD Press, www.store.astd.org), which has received outstanding reviews and was one of ASTD’s top three book sellers in June. At the 2008 ASTD International Conference and Exhibition, he spoke at an author chat, “Write better, work more productively.” Jack speaks frequently to different groups and has published several articles on the importance of good writing. As a professor, Jack teaches writing and communication courses at Fairleigh Dickinson University and William Paterson University, both in New Jersey. He has also taught public relations and advertising courses for Manhattan College and the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
