I can answer many questions about the perioperative period (ie, before, during and after a surgical procedure). Anesthesiologists need to know about all of the organ systems. I can probably answer questions about critically ill patients better than general internal/family medicine. An anesthesiologist puts all types of patients to sleep and therefore must be a jack-of-all-trades!
