Back to Ask a Psychic!

Hello & Happy New Year! I am curious about my love life, particularly about possibly reuniting with my ex.

I am hoping to reunite with my recent ex-more like a soulmate-B, of 16 months. When we met back in September of 2009, we began to almost instantly fall in love with each other after our first date in mid-October ‘09. We both had been a bit vulnerable coming from not-so-great, long-term relationships prior to our meeting one another, but single &/or dating for at least 2 yrs since. Besides the point, we’d allowed something beautiful to blossom between us, for the first time allowing for honesty, communication, trust & support to really penetrate the relationship. He & I took fidelity & being very faithful very seriously, but I’d had some past residual insecurities (my last relationship, though on & off had become a physically abusive one) I’d allowed to interfere with the great thing B & I had going, what with each of our families becoming closer with one another & he began to find it harder to trust me towards the end. I believe that there were some things I could’ve done to mend our love, rid myself of the inner negative feelings I felt myself having… As happy & as strong as I have become on my own again, I feel that since we’d broken up in February (2011), a lot has changed. We’ve since had no contact since May & I wonder if there is ever a chance we’ll break our “no going backwards” rule with one another, stop being stubborn & finally make an attempt at reuniting & rekindling our relationship, completely changed for the better? Will he also be willing to work on rebuilding the trust between the two of us? We had plans to marry & spend the rest of our lives together—do we still stand a chance?

Hi there, letting our guards down and letting in something great is an amazing thing but its often hard to rid ourselves of past triggers, and this is what it boils down too. Memories are always triggered by something and it sounds like to me you have done a lot of work to figure this out on your own, and realize there are thing you could have done.
